So I thought I'd put up this wiki page so everyone can know what's happening etc. Add to it, because I haven't really put up very much yet, just thought I'd set the ball rolling...
Transport
- Bethan - From Ambleside(perhaps yorkshire so can pick up Kate) to Jane's on the 30th. From there take Jane, Kate, Joe and Matthew (Doesn't necessarly have to be those 4) to Edinburgh on 31st. On the 1st Dave M joins us and we travel to the Bunkhouse
- Doug - taking Chris (coming to my house on morning of 30th), Kirsty (picking up in Cheltenham), Rob (picking up in B'ham) and Ben (probably picking up in Staffordshire) to Jane's on 30th, and from there with Bethan's car to Edinburgh on 31st, then on to bunkhouse on 1st, post hogmonay!
- Dave -
- Matthew - train over to Carlisle on 30th December
Accommodation
On the 31st after Hogamany half of us will crash at my friend Joe's and the others at Kate's Friend's. Joe lives on Leamington Road. From the 1st we are staying in Craggan Bunkhouse with two bunk-rooms of 11 and 12 beds each, and a cosier 4-bed room and the kitchen is apparently well equipped. The bunkhouse is based at Craggan Golf Course, 1 mile south of Grantown-on-Spey, right beside the A95 to / from Aviemore. There is a damage and cleaniness deposit and thing for everybody to read which I attached to the email too.
Food
We have 2 evenings with 3 Veggie, 1 Vegan (or are you going veggie? Undecided as always...did have a mince pie yesterday when I didn't feel I could say no :-/ and chocolate factory might present too much of a temptation tomorrow...but pretty much still vegan...don't want to be awkward though so don't worry about me - I can always pick cheese off or cook a bit without or something), 6 meat and veggies and 1 meat eater (is this Ben? (Doug)), then we have 3 nights of 4/5 Veggie, 8 MeatVeggies and 1 Meat. So it might be best to have two meals per night or just have something big that if really wanted meat can be added to.
What is a meatveggie? Have I missed something, or do we now have vegetarians that eat meat? I wondered the same thing...but I think it's meant to mean the other way round - meat-eaters who also eat vegetables...not that most meat-eaters don't eat any vegetables, but meat-veggies are presumably willing to just eat veggie as opposed to Ben's variety of meat-eater which isn't...(Kirsty)
That makes it so much clearer...
Anyway we also need food for 6 breakfasts and 6 lunchs for 11 of us (not sure whether the extra 3 want to come into this or not? - we probably will if that's ok - if not, we'll get something from Tesco in Aviemore. We'll do our own lunch on Monday). So let's start some meal ideas and a shopping list:

Equipment
Maps (are there club ones Joe?)
- I have a club 1:25 of Aviemore; can give it to one of you lot now or bring on the 3rd. Also have own BMC map, plus a very old 1 inch to the mile OS map of the Cairngorms that anyone is welcome to borrow. (JS)
I ([l|/users/matthew-graham|Matt]) have:
- BMC Cairngorms
- OS Explorer 403 Cairn Gorm and Aviemore
- 2 * OS Landranger 36 Grantown and Aviemore (though one is looking a little bit worse for wear)
- I've also got BMC Ben Nevis and Glen Coe which I could bring if New Years Day trip up Ben Nevis is still being mooted?
I've got a BMC Cairngorms. There are also almost certainly OS ones at home which I could bring, probably (though not definitely) published more recently than the 1980s...(Kirsty)

Questions from Chris
- Snow holing sounds fun. Do we need extra equipment? A roll mat seems like an obvious start. However, 10 roll mats is a lot of car space! It would be useful to discuss this one before leaving.
- I'm going to have my thermarest with me.
